Four people taken to hospital after being shot in Vaughan

Four individuals were rushed to the hospital after being shot in Vaughan on Sunday evening.

According to York Regional Police, the incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Jane Street and Highway 7. The victims, whose identities have not been released, were found with gunshot wounds and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Police have not yet provided any information on the severity of the injuries or the current condition of the victims. However, they have confirmed that all four individuals are expected to survive.

The area has been cordoned off as police continue to investigate the shooting. Witnesses have reported hearing multiple gunshots and seeing a vehicle fleeing the scene.

At this time, no suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made. Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.

This incident is the latest in a string of shootings in the Greater Toronto Area in recent weeks. Just last week, a 14-year-old boy was fatally shot in Brampton, and a 5-year-old girl was injured in a shooting in Toronto’s east end.

The rise in gun violence has prompted calls for stricter gun control measures and increased police presence in affected communities. Mayor John Tory has expressed his concern and has promised to work with law enforcement to address the issue.

Anyone with information on the Vaughan shooting is urged to contact York Regional Police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
