Andre Corbould leaving Edmonton city manager position on April 3

After serving as Edmonton’s city manager for over five years, Andre Corbould has announced his departure from the position on April 3rd.

Corbould was appointed as the city manager in 2015, after previously serving as the city’s deputy city manager for four years. During his time as city manager, Corbould oversaw major projects such as the Valley Line LRT and the redevelopment of the Blatchford community.

In a statement, Corbould expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve as city manager and work with the dedicated staff at the City of Edmonton. He also highlighted the progress made during his tenure, including the implementation of the city’s new operating model and the development of the city’s first-ever multi-year budget.

Mayor Don Iveson praised Corbould for his leadership and dedication to the city, stating that he has been a key player in shaping Edmonton’s future. Iveson also noted that Corbould’s departure comes at a critical time as the city navigates through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The search for a new city manager will begin immediately, with the goal of having a replacement in place by April 3rd. In the meantime, Deputy City Manager Adam Laughlin will serve as acting city manager.

Corbould’s departure marks the end of a successful tenure as city manager, and he will be remembered for his contributions to the growth and development of Edmonton.
