The family of a missing senior in Calgary is growing increasingly concerned for her wellbeing.
According to the Calgary Police Service, 81-year-old Mary Smith was last seen on May 25th in the community of Bridgeland. She was reported missing by her family on May 27th.
Smith is described as being 5’2″ tall, with a slim build and short grey hair. She was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, and black shoes.
Her family says that Smith has dementia and may be confused and disoriented. They are worried about her safety and are urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to come forward.
The Calgary Police Service has been actively searching for Smith, utilizing resources such as the HAWCS helicopter and K9 units. They have also been conducting door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage in the area.
Smith’s family is pleading for anyone who may have seen her or has any information to contact the police immediately. They are also asking residents in the Bridgeland area to check their properties, including sheds and garages, in case Smith sought shelter there.
The community has also come together to help in the search efforts, with volunteers distributing flyers and sharing information on social media.
