Two Calgary men are facing multiple charges in connection to a series of robberies targeting casino visitors.
According to police, the two suspects, aged 25 and 27, were arrested on Wednesday and are facing charges of robbery, possession of stolen property, and using a firearm in the commission of an offence.
The robberies took place between December 2020 and January 2021, with the suspects allegedly targeting individuals leaving casinos in the city’s northeast and northwest areas.
In each incident, the suspects would allegedly approach the victims and demand their belongings, including cash and personal items. In some cases, a firearm was reportedly used to intimidate the victims.
Police say that through their investigation, they were able to identify the two suspects and make the arrests.
The 25-year-old suspect is facing a total of 11 charges, while the 27-year-old is facing 10 charges.
Both men are currently in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Police are reminding the public to be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity to authorities.
