Mounties search for man who smashed woman's windshield with axe on Vancouver Island

Mounties on Vancouver Island are currently on the lookout for a man who allegedly smashed a woman’s windshield with an axe.

According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the incident occurred on Monday evening in the community of Port Alberni. The victim, a woman in her 30s, was driving her vehicle when she noticed a man walking in the middle of the road. As she slowed down to avoid hitting him, the man suddenly swung an axe at her windshield, causing significant damage.

The woman was able to drive away and immediately contacted the police. She was not injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 30s, approximately 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black baseball cap at the time of the incident.

RCMP officers conducted a thorough search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect. They are now asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the man responsible for this violent act.
