Accused's actions after Vancouver double-murder should leave no doubt as to guilt, Crown argues

The Crown has argued that the actions of the accused following a double murder in Vancouver should leave no doubt as to their guilt.

During the trial, the Crown presented evidence that the accused, Rocky Rambo Wei Nam Kam, had purchased a gun and ammunition just days before the murders of Richard Jones and Dianna Mah-Jones in their Marpole home in September 2017.

The Crown also pointed to surveillance footage that showed Kam entering and exiting the victims’ home on the night of the murders, as well as cell phone records that placed him in the area at the time.

In addition, the Crown highlighted Kam’s behavior after the murders, including his attempt to flee the country and his alleged confession to a friend that he had killed the couple.

Crown prosecutor Daniel Mulligan argued that these actions, along with the evidence presented, should leave no doubt as to Kam’s guilt.

However, Kam’s defense lawyer, Glen Orris, argued that there was no direct evidence linking his client to the murders and that the Crown’s case was based on circumstantial evidence.

The defense also pointed to the fact that Kam had no prior criminal record and had a good relationship with the victims, making it unlikely that he would commit such a heinous crime.

The trial is ongoing and the judge is expected to deliver a verdict in the coming weeks. If convicted, Kam could face life in prison.

The double murder of Jones and Mah-Jones shocked the Vancouver community and left many wondering about the motive behind the brutal killings. The Crown’s argument that Kam’s actions following the murders should leave no doubt as to his guilt has raised questions about the strength of the evidence and the possibility of a conviction.

As the trial continues, the families of the victims are seeking closure and justice for their loved ones. The outcome of this case will have a significant impact on the community and the justice system as a whole.
