A Kelowna man who was previously convicted of a 2014 hammer killing has been arrested once again.
According to police, the man, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody on Tuesday for breaching his release conditions.
The 2014 incident, which resulted in the death of a 61-year-old man, shocked the community and led to a lengthy investigation. The man was eventually found guilty of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole for 15 years.
However, just two years into his sentence, the man was granted day parole and was released into the community under strict conditions.
Unfortunately, it seems that he has once again violated those conditions and has been arrested by authorities.
The details of the breach have not been disclosed, but police have confirmed that the man is currently in custody and will be facing new charges.
This latest development has left many in the community feeling uneasy and concerned for their safety. The fact that the man was able to breach his conditions and be released into the community in the first place has also raised questions about the justice system and its handling of violent offenders.
The police have assured the public that they are taking this matter seriously and are working diligently to ensure the safety of the community.
As the investigation continues, we will provide updates on any new developments in this case.
