VPD issue public warning after random sucker punch at bus stop

The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) has issued a public warning after a random sucker punch at a bus stop left a man injured.

According to the VPD, the incident occurred on Monday evening at a bus stop on Granville Street near West Georgia Street. The victim, a 32-year-old man, was waiting for the bus when he was suddenly punched in the face by an unknown assailant.

The victim sustained a broken nose and other facial injuries as a result of the unprovoked attack. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The VPD is now urging the public to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, especially when waiting at bus stops. They are also asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward and contact them.

In a statement, VPD spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison said, “This was a completely random and senseless act of violence. We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to please come forward and speak with our investigators.”

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s, approximately 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black baseball cap at the time of the attack.

The VPD is also reminding the public to report any suspicious or concerning behavior to the police immediately.

This incident serves as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings and to report any suspicious activity. The VPD is actively investigating this case and is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
