Youth charged over serious injuries to girl at Quadeville

A young individual has been charged in connection with a disturbing incident that left a girl with serious injuries in Quadeville, according to authorities.

The incident occurred on Monday evening, when officers from the Killaloe detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call about a disturbance at a residence in Quadeville, a small community located about 150 kilometers west of Ottawa.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a young girl with serious injuries. She was immediately transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Ottawa for further treatment.

The OPP has confirmed that a youth has been charged with assault causing bodily harm in relation to this incident. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be released.

The investigation is ongoing and the OPP is urging anyone with information to come forward and contact the Killaloe detachment at 613-757-2600 or 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

The OPP has also reminded the public that violence against anyone, especially children, is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. They are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals in their communities.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. The victim’s condition is currently unknown.
