The Brockville Chamber of Commerce has announced the finalists for their prestigious Community Excellence Awards. These awards recognize local businesses and individuals who have made significant contributions to the community.
The finalists for the Business of the Year award are: 1000 Islands RV Centre, Brockville General Hospital, and The Score Pizza and Wings. These businesses have demonstrated exceptional growth, innovation, and community involvement.
For the Citizen of the Year award, the finalists are: Bob Runciman, a former senator and long-time community volunteer; Heather Halladay, a dedicated volunteer and advocate for mental health; and Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, a prominent local physician and public health advocate.
The Young Professional of the Year award finalists are: Emily Farrell, owner of The Sweet Life Bakery; Dr. Kaitlyn Proulx, a chiropractor and community volunteer; and Ryan Hanes, owner of Hanes Home Improvements.
The Tourism Excellence award finalists are: Aquatarium at Tall Ships Landing, Brockville Arts Centre, and Brockville Museum. These organizations have played a significant role in promoting and enhancing tourism in the Brockville area.
The Brockville Chamber of Commerce received a record number of nominations this year, making the selection process even more challenging. The winners will be announced at the Community Excellence Awards Gala on October 24th at the Brockville Convention Centre.
Chamber President, Tom Russell, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, stating, “We are thrilled to recognize and celebrate the outstanding businesses and individuals who have made a positive impact in our community. Their hard work and dedication are truly commendable.”
