Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting in Regina that left an 11-year-old girl injured.

According to police, the incident occurred on Saturday evening in the 1200 block of Rae Street. The young girl was reportedly playing outside when she was struck by a bullet.

The Regina Police Service (RPS) immediately launched an investigation and were able to identify two suspects. On Monday, 19-year-old Jaiden Fontaine and 20-year-old Tyrell Bird were arrested and charged with attempted murder and numerous firearm-related offences.

The young girl was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery.
