Kelowna Concierge Launches Annual Winter Coat Drive

Kelowna, BC – As the winter season approaches, Kelowna Concierge has once again kicked off their annual winter coat drive to help those in need stay warm during the colder months.

The initiative, now in its fifth year, aims to collect gently used or new winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves to distribute to individuals and families in the community who may not have the means to purchase these essential items.

According to Kelowna Concierge founder, Sarah Thompson, the idea for the coat drive came about when she noticed a growing number of individuals in the community struggling to stay warm during the winter season.

“We wanted to do something to help those in need in our community, and the coat drive seemed like the perfect way to do so,” Thompson said.

Since its inception, the coat drive has been a huge success, with hundreds of winter items collected and distributed to those in need. Last year alone, over 500 coats were donated, and this year, the organization hopes to surpass that number.

“We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from the community over the years. It’s heartwarming to see how many people are willing to donate and make a difference in someone else’s life,” Thompson added.

The coat drive will run until the end of December, and donations can be dropped off at various locations throughout Kelowna, including local businesses, community centers, and the Kelowna Concierge office.

All donated items will be cleaned and sanitized before being distributed to ensure the safety and well-being of the recipients.

Let’s come together as a community and make this winter a little warmer for those in need.
