A tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Monday morning in the city of Whuamni, leaving one person dead and several others injured.

According to eyewitnesses, a fire broke out at a local apartment complex on West 5th Street, causing chaos and panic among the residents. The fire department was immediately called to the scene and managed to contain the fire within an hour.

Unfortunately, one person was unable to escape the flames and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of their family.

Several others were injured in the fire and were rushed to the nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but authorities believe it may have started in one of the apartments on the third floor. The entire building has been evacuated and residents have been temporarily relocated to a nearby community center.

The Whuamni Fire Department has issued a statement urging residents to always have working smoke detectors in their homes and to have an evacuation plan in case of emergencies.
