The Powassan Voodoos have made a major move just before the trade deadline, acquiring a star player and welcoming back a key member of their team.
After being sidelined for several weeks due to an injury, forward Cade Herd has returned to the Voodoos lineup. Herd, who has been a top scorer for the team this season, is expected to bring a much-needed boost to the team’s offense.
In addition to Herd’s return, the Voodoos have also made a deadline deal with the Cochrane Crunch. The Voodoos have acquired forward Noah Bennett in exchange for future considerations. Bennett, who has 25 points in 33 games this season, is expected to add depth and skill to the Voodoos’ forward line.
Head coach Max Gavin expressed his excitement about the team’s newest addition, stating, “Noah is a talented player who will fit in well with our team. We are thrilled to have him join us for the remainder of the season.”
The Voodoos currently sit in second place in the NOJHL’s East Division and are looking to make a strong push towards the playoffs. With the addition of Bennett and the return of Herd, the team is confident that they have the pieces in place to make a deep run in the postseason.
