Emergency Crews Rescue Man Trapped in Trench in Etobicoke

Emergency crews were called to the scene in Etobicoke on Tuesday afternoon to rescue a man who was trapped in a trench.

According to Toronto Fire Services, the incident occurred at a construction site near Kipling Avenue and Bloor Street West.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a man who had become trapped in a trench approximately 10 feet deep. The man was reportedly working on a sewer line when the trench collapsed, trapping him inside.

Rescue efforts were immediately initiated, with firefighters and paramedics working together to safely extricate the man from the trench. The process was delicate and time-consuming, as the priority was to ensure the man’s safety and prevent any further injuries.

After nearly two hours, the man was successfully freed from the trench and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. His condition is currently unknown.
