A man has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after allegedly posing as a massage therapist and assaulting a person at a spa in Vaughan, Ontario.
According to York Regional Police, the incident occurred on July 6 at a spa located on Rutherford Road. The accused, identified as 38-year-old Michael Lee, is said to have approached the victim and offered them a massage. However, once inside a private room, Lee allegedly sexually assaulted the victim.
The victim immediately reported the incident to spa staff, who then contacted the police. Lee was arrested at the scene and charged with sexual assault and impersonating a massage therapist.
Police are concerned that there may be other victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are also reminding the public to be cautious when seeking massage services and to ensure that the therapist is licensed and accredited.
Lee is scheduled to appear in court on August 26 and police are continuing their investigation.
