Springer helps homer-happy Blue Jays rout Reds 10-3

The Toronto Blue Jays dominated the Cincinnati Reds in a 10-3 victory on Tuesday night, with George Springer leading the charge with a homerun and four RBIs.

Springer, who recently returned from a quad injury, wasted no time making an impact in his first game back. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a two-run homer to give the Blue Jays an early lead.

The Blue Jays continued to pile on the runs, with Teoscar Hernandez hitting a two-run double in the third inning and Randal Grichuk adding a solo homer in the fourth. Springer then drove in two more runs with a single in the fifth inning.

The Reds struggled to keep up with the Blue Jays’ offensive onslaught, managing only three runs in the game. Blue Jays pitcher Robbie Ray had a strong outing, striking out eight batters in six innings and only allowing two runs.

The Blue Jays’ victory was a team effort, with every player in the starting lineup recording at least one hit. This marks the fourth consecutive game in which the Blue Jays have scored at least 10 runs, a feat they haven’t achieved since 2010.

With this win, the Blue Jays improve to a 44-40 record and remain in fourth place in the American League East. They will look to continue their winning streak in the second game of the series against the Reds on Wednesday night.
