The retired teacher, who has chosen to remain anonymous, has come forward to claim their share of the jackpot. They have opted to receive the winnings in a lump sum of $40 million.

According to Loto-Québec, the winner was in disbelief when they checked their ticket and realized they had won. They immediately called their family to share the good news.

The winner has expressed their gratitude and plans to use the money to help their family and make some personal investments.

This historic jackpot is the largest ever won in Quebec and the third largest in Canadian lottery history. The previous record for a Quebec lottery win was $70 million in 2017.

The other half of the jackpot was won by a group of 20 coworkers from a manufacturing plant in Ontario. Each member of the group will receive $2 million.

The Ontario group has also chosen to remain anonymous, but they have shared that they plan to use the money to pay off debts and take care of their families.

The odds of winning the Lotto Max jackpot are approximately 1 in 33 million. The next draw will take place on Friday, December 17th with an estimated jackpot of $10 million.

This historic win has brought excitement and joy to both Quebec and Ontario, and serves as a reminder that anyone can be a lucky winner.
