The Chatham Maroons are gearing up for an exciting match against the London Nationals, where they will have the chance to face off against some familiar faces.
The Maroons, who currently hold a record of 10-6-1, are looking to continue their winning streak as they take on the Nationals, who have a record of 9-7-1. This will be the third time the two teams have met this season, with the Maroons winning both previous games.
Head coach Kyle Makaric is confident in his team’s abilities and is looking forward to the challenge of facing the Nationals once again. “We know what to expect from them and we know what we need to do to come out on top,” Makaric stated.
One of the familiar faces the Maroons will be facing is former teammate and captain, Evan Wells, who was traded to the Nationals earlier this season. Wells, who played for the Maroons for three seasons, will be returning to Chatham for the first time since the trade.
“It’s always interesting to play against former teammates,” said Maroons forward, Maddux Rychel. “We know Evan’s style of play and we’ll be ready for him.”
The Maroons will also be facing off against former assistant coach, Pat Powers, who is now the head coach of the Nationals. Powers spent two seasons with the Maroons before joining the Nationals this year.
Despite the familiarity with their opponents, the Maroons are not taking this game lightly. “We know they have a strong team and we can’t underestimate them,” said Maroons defenseman, Grayson Ladd.
The game is set to take place on Friday, November 22nd at the Chatham Memorial Arena. The Maroons are hoping for a strong turnout from their fans to support them in this highly anticipated match.
With both teams eager for a win, it is sure to be an intense and exciting game. The Maroons are determined to come out on top and continue their successful season.
