A visibly exhausted deer in a British Columbia city was chased by dogs and ultimately saved by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on Monday.
The incident occurred in the city of Prince George, where the deer was spotted running through residential areas with two dogs in pursuit. The deer appeared to be struggling and was visibly exhausted.
According to witnesses, the deer was being chased by the dogs for several blocks before the RCMP arrived on the scene. The officers quickly intervened and were able to separate the deer from the dogs.
The deer, which was panting heavily and appeared to be in distress, was then safely escorted out of the city by the RCMP. The dogs were also safely returned to their owners.
The RCMP stated that they were able to successfully rescue the deer thanks to the quick actions of the officers and the cooperation of the dogs’ owners. They also reminded the public to keep their pets under control and to report any sightings of distressed wildlife to the authorities.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and the need to protect wildlife in urban areas. The RCMP’s swift response and successful rescue of the deer is a testament to their dedication to serving and protecting all members of the community, including animals.
The deer was last seen heading back into the wild, hopefully unharmed and with a newfound appreciation for the kindness of humans.
