Metro update: Service on green line restored after water leak

After a brief disruption, service on the Green Line of the Montreal Metro has been fully restored following a water leak.

The incident occurred on Monday morning, causing delays and cancellations on the Green Line between Angrignon and Honoré-Beaugrand stations. The leak was discovered near the Lionel-Groulx station, prompting the STM (Société de transport de Montréal) to shut down service on that section of the line.

According to the STM, the water leak was caused by a broken pipe in the tunnel. Crews worked diligently to repair the damage and restore service as quickly as possible. The STM also provided shuttle buses to transport passengers between the affected stations.

Fortunately, the repairs were completed in a timely manner and service on the Green Line was fully restored by Monday afternoon. The STM thanked passengers for their patience and understanding during the disruption.

This is not the first time the Montreal Metro has experienced service disruptions due to water leaks. In 2019, a similar incident occurred on the Orange Line, causing major delays and frustration for commuters. The STM has since implemented measures to prevent and address such incidents in the future.

Passengers are advised to check the STM’s website or social media for any updates or changes to service. The STM also encourages passengers to report any issues or concerns they may encounter while using the Metro.

The STM is committed to providing safe and reliable transportation for the residents of Montreal. Despite occasional disruptions, the Metro remains a vital mode of transportation for thousands of commuters every day.
