The Nashville Predators have forced a Game 6 in their series against the Vancouver Canucks with a 2-1 win on Thursday night.
The Predators came out strong in the first period, with a goal from forward Calle Jarnkrok just 5:35 into the game. The Canucks were unable to answer back, despite having several power play opportunities.
In the second period, the Predators continued to dominate, outshooting the Canucks 14-6. However, it was the Canucks who were able to capitalize on a power play, with a goal from forward J.T. Miller to tie the game at 1-1.
The third period saw both teams battling hard, but it was the Predators who ultimately came out on top. Forward Filip Forsberg scored the game-winning goal with just over six minutes left in the game, giving the Predators a 2-1 lead.
The Canucks pulled their goalie in the final minutes of the game, but were unable to find the back of the net, giving the Predators the win and forcing a Game 6 in the series.
Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros was a key player in the win, making 30 saves and keeping the Canucks at bay throughout the game.
The series now shifts back to Nashville for Game 6 on Saturday, where the Predators will look to continue their momentum and force a Game 7.
The Canucks, on the other hand, will need to regroup and come out strong if they want to close out the series and move on to the next round.
With the series now at 3-2 in favor of the Canucks, both teams will be giving it their all in what is sure to be an intense and exciting Game 6.
