Police looking for suspect accused of sexually assaulting woman walking her dog in Markham

Police in Markham are currently searching for a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman while she was walking her dog.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday evening around 7:30 p.m. in the area of Bur Oak Avenue and Ninth Line. The victim was reportedly walking her dog when she was approached by a man who proceeded to sexually assault her.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, approximately 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black baseball cap.

The victim was able to fight off the suspect and flee the scene. She immediately contacted the police and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage from the area and are asking anyone with information to come forward. They are also reminding the public to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings, especially when walking alone.

Residents in the area are shocked and concerned about the incident, with many expressing their support for the victim and urging the police to find the suspect as soon as possible.
