A child and a man were injured after being struck by a car in Montreal’s east end on Monday evening.
According to Montreal police, the incident occurred at around 6:30 p.m. on Notre-Dame Street East near 3rd Avenue in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighborhood.
The 10-year-old child and the 35-year-old man were both transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the collision and have not yet released any information on whether charges will be laid.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing the child and man being hit by the car while crossing the street. The area has a marked crosswalk and traffic lights, but it is unclear at this time if they were in use at the time of the incident.
