North Bay, ON – The city of North Bay was buzzing with excitement as it hosted its second annual “Welcome to North Bay” celebration. The event, which took place on Saturday, September 12th, aimed to showcase the city’s unique culture and community to both residents and visitors.
The celebration kicked off with a parade down Main Street, featuring local businesses, organizations, and community groups. Spectators lined the streets, cheering and waving as the parade passed by. Mayor Al McDonald, who led the parade, expressed his pride in the city and its residents.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and celebrate all that North Bay has to offer,” said Mayor McDonald. “We have a vibrant and diverse community, and it’s important to showcase that to the rest of the world.”
Following the parade, the festivities continued at the waterfront, where a variety of activities and entertainment were available for all ages. From live music and dance performances to food trucks and local vendors, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
One of the highlights of the event was the “Taste of North Bay” tent, where attendees could sample delicious dishes from some of the city’s best restaurants. The tent also featured a cooking demonstration by a local chef, showcasing the city’s culinary talent.
In addition to the fun and entertainment, the “Welcome to North Bay” celebration also had a strong focus on community engagement and inclusivity. Various non-profit organizations were present, providing information and resources to attendees. The event also featured a citizenship ceremony, welcoming new Canadians to the city.
