Chatham Maroons’ player Josh Harding is ready to take on a bigger role on the team this season. After a successful rookie year, Harding is eager to make an even greater impact on the ice.
The 18-year-old forward from Blenheim, Ontario joined the Maroons last season and quickly proved himself as a valuable asset to the team. He recorded 12 goals and 14 assists in 44 games, earning him a spot on the All-Rookie Team in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
But Harding is not content with just being a rookie standout. He has been working hard in the off-season to improve his skills and is determined to make an even bigger impact this year.
“I’m really excited for this upcoming season,” Harding said. “I’ve been training hard and I feel like I’ve grown a lot as a player. I’m ready to take on a bigger role and help lead this team to success.”
Head coach Kyle Makaric has noticed Harding’s dedication and is confident in his abilities to step up this season.
“Josh is a hard-working player with a lot of potential,” Makaric said. “He has a great attitude and is always looking to improve. We have high expectations for him this year and we know he will deliver.”
Harding’s determination and work ethic have not gone unnoticed by his teammates either. Captain Dane Johnstone has been impressed by Harding’s growth and is looking forward to seeing him shine on the ice.
“Josh is a great teammate and a skilled player,” Johnstone said. “He has really stepped up his game and I have no doubt he will be a key player for us this season.”
With the start of the season just around the corner, Harding is eager to hit the ice and show what he’s capable of. He is determined to help lead the Maroons to a successful season and is ready to give it his all.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to play for the Chatham Maroons and I’m excited to see what we can accomplish this year,” Harding said. “I’m ready to do whatever it takes to help my team win.”
