Three individuals have been arrested for allegedly stealing copper wire from a construction site in Saskatoon.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, the theft occurred on January 12 at a construction site on the 300 block of 2nd Avenue South. The suspects were caught in the act by a security guard who immediately contacted the police.
Upon arrival, officers found the suspects in possession of a large amount of copper wire, as well as tools commonly used for stealing copper. The three individuals, two men and one woman, were arrested and charged with theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
The estimated value of the stolen copper wire is approximately $10,000. The police are currently investigating whether the suspects are connected to any other similar thefts in the area.
