The Powassan Voodoos dominated the ice on Saturday night, securing a resounding victory over the Blind River Beavers.
The Voodoos came out strong, with forward Cade Herd scoring the first goal of the game just over a minute into the first period. This set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Voodoos continued to dominate the Beavers with their aggressive play and precise passing.
Blind River struggled to keep up with the Voodoos’ pace, and by the end of the first period, the score was already 3-0 in favor of Powassan. The second period saw more of the same, with the Voodoos adding two more goals to their tally, while the Beavers were unable to find the back of the net.
The third period saw a glimmer of hope for Blind River as they managed to score their first goal of the game, but it was quickly overshadowed by two more goals from the Voodoos. The final score was a decisive 7-1 in favor of Powassan.
Voodoos’ head coach Max Gavin was pleased with his team’s performance, stating, “We came out strong and played a full 60 minutes. Our players were focused and executed our game plan perfectly.”

The Voodoos’ win brings their record to 6-2-0 for the season, while the Beavers drop to 2-5-1. The two teams will face off again on November 1st in Blind River.
