Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested a driver who failed to stop for police on two separate occasions.
According to OPP, the first incident occurred on July 10th, when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, however, refused to stop and fled the scene. Police did not pursue the vehicle for safety reasons.
The second incident took place on July 12th, when the same vehicle was spotted by police. Once again, the driver failed to stop and fled from officers. This time, however, police were able to safely stop the vehicle and arrest the driver.
The driver, a 32-year-old man from North Bay, has been charged with two counts of flight from police and one count of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 27th.
OPP would like to remind the public that failing to stop for police is a serious offense and puts both the driver and the public at risk. They also urge anyone who witnesses a vehicle failing to stop for police to call 911 immediately.
This arrest serves as a reminder that the OPP is committed to ensuring the safety of all individuals on the road and will not tolerate dangerous driving behavior.
