Watch: Bear steals golf clubs from cart on British Columbia course

Pitt Meadows, Canada – Golfers at the Golden Eagle Golf Club in Pitt Meadows were in for a wild surprise when they spotted a bear carrying a set of golf clubs on the course.

According to witnesses, the bear was seen walking across the 14th hole with a set of clubs in its mouth. The incident, which occurred on Monday, July 13, was captured on video by golfer, Colin Morrison.

Morrison, who was playing with his friends at the time, said they initially thought it was a joke or a prank being played by another golfer. But as they got closer, they realized it was indeed a bear carrying a set of clubs.

The bear, estimated to be around 2 years old, was reportedly calm and did not show any signs of aggression towards the golfers. It eventually dropped the clubs and wandered off into the nearby woods.

The golf course’s general manager, Jason Lowe, confirmed the incident and stated that it was the first time they had seen a bear on the course in the 25 years he has worked there.

He also mentioned that the course is located near a wildlife reserve, so it is not uncommon to see bears and other animals in the area. However, this was the first time a bear had been spotted carrying golf clubs.

The video of the bear with the golf clubs quickly went viral on social media, with many users finding the incident both amusing and impressive.

Experts say that bears are known to be curious animals and are often attracted to shiny objects, which could explain why the bear was carrying the clubs.

Fortunately, no one was harmed during the encounter, and the golfers were able to continue their game after the bear left the area.

This unusual incident serves as a reminder to always be aware of your surroundings, especially when playing golf in areas known to have wildlife. And who knows, you may even come across a bear with a set of golf clubs!
