A Toronto man, who has been accused of engaging in terrorist activities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), appeared in court today to face charges.
The accused, whose name has not been released to the public, was arrested by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) on Tuesday. He has been charged with multiple counts of terrorism-related offenses, including participating in a terrorist group, facilitating terrorist activity, and instructing others to carry out terrorist acts.
According to the RCMP, the accused is believed to have been involved in planning and preparing for terrorist attacks in the GTA. The investigation into his activities began in 2019 and involved collaboration between the RCMP, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS), and local law enforcement agencies.
