British Columbia Rescue Caring for Two Orphaned Bobcat Kittens

A rare and heartwarming situation has arisen at a British Columbia rescue, as they find themselves caring for not one, but two orphaned bobcat kittens.

The two kittens, named Willow and Cedar, were brought to the Critter Care Wildlife Society in Langley after being found alone and in need of help. According to the rescue, it is extremely rare to have two orphaned bobcat kittens in their care at the same time.

The kittens, who are estimated to be around six weeks old, are currently being bottle-fed every four hours and are receiving round-the-clock care from the dedicated staff at the rescue. They are also being closely monitored by a veterinarian to ensure they are healthy and thriving.

Critter Care Wildlife Society is a non-profit organization that specializes in the rehabilitation and release of injured and orphaned wildlife. They have been caring for animals for over 30 years and have successfully released thousands of animals back into the wild.

According to the rescue, bobcats are native to British Columbia and are an important part of the ecosystem. They play a crucial role in controlling rodent populations and are also a natural predator of rabbits and hares.

The rescue is hopeful that Willow and Cedar will be able to be released back into the wild once they are old enough and have learned the necessary survival skills. However, they will continue to provide care and support for the kittens until they are ready to be released.

In the meantime, the rescue is asking for donations to help cover the cost of caring for the two kittens. They estimate that it will cost around $5,000 to care for each kitten until they are ready to be released.

The Critter Care Wildlife Society is also reminding the public to never approach or handle wild animals, as it can be dangerous for both the animal and the person. If you come across an injured or orphaned animal, it is best to contact a local wildlife rescue or rehabilitation center for assistance.

The rescue is grateful for the outpouring of support and well wishes for Willow and Cedar, and they are committed to providing the best care possible for these two precious bobcat kittens.
