Two teenage girls, aged 13 and 17, have been charged for their alleged involvement in a robbery in Saskatoon where bear spray was used. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at a convenience store on the 100 block of Avenue P South.
According to Saskatoon Police, the two girls entered the store and attempted to steal items. When confronted by the store owner, one of the girls allegedly used bear spray before fleeing the scene. The store owner was not injured in the incident.
Police were able to locate and arrest the two suspects a short time later. They have been charged with robbery and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The 17-year-old suspect also faces an additional charge of breaching a court order.
