Pittsburgh Penguins dominated the ice in a 6-2 victory over the Calgary Flames, with Bryan Rust and Kris Letang leading the charge.
The Penguins started strong, with Rust scoring the first goal of the game just 1:08 into the first period. Letang followed suit with a power-play goal, giving the Penguins a 2-0 lead.
The Flames fought back in the second period, with Elias Lindholm scoring a power-play goal of his own. However, the Penguins quickly regained control with Rust scoring his second goal of the night, followed by a goal from Jake Guentzel.
The third period saw the Penguins continue their dominance, with Letang scoring his second goal of the game and Evan Rodrigues adding another goal to the scoreboard.
Despite a late goal from the Flames’ Dillon Dube, it was not enough to overcome the Penguins’ strong performance.
Penguins’ goaltender Tristan Jarry made 29 saves, while Flames’ goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 23 saves.
This win marks the Penguins’ fourth consecutive victory, solidifying their spot as one of the top teams in the league.
The Flames, on the other hand, have now lost three games in a row and will need to regroup in order to turn their season around.
The Penguins will look to continue their winning streak as they face off against the Flames again on Saturday.
