Big White Freestyle invests $65K in new landing air bag

Big White Freestyle, a popular ski resort in Kelowna, has recently made a significant investment in their freestyle terrain park. The resort has spent $65,000 on a new landing air bag, which is expected to enhance the safety and experience for freestyle skiers and snowboarders.

The landing air bag, also known as a “stunt bag,” is a large inflatable cushion that is placed at the end of a jump. It is designed to provide a soft landing for athletes practicing and performing tricks, reducing the risk of injury.

According to Big White Freestyle’s Terrain Park Manager, Josh Foster, the decision to invest in the new landing air bag was driven by the increasing popularity of freestyle skiing and snowboarding at the resort. “We have seen a significant increase in the number of freestyle skiers and snowboarders at Big White, and we want to ensure that they have a safe and enjoyable experience,” Foster stated.

The new landing air bag is 50 feet wide and 50 feet long, making it one of the largest in Western Canada. It is also equipped with a state-of-the-art air pump system, allowing for quick inflation and deflation. This will enable the resort to adjust the size and shape of the landing air bag to accommodate different skill levels and types of tricks.

In addition to enhancing safety, the new landing air bag is also expected to attract more professional athletes and teams to train and compete at Big White Freestyle. “Having a top-of-the-line landing air bag will put us on the map as a premier freestyle training destination,” Foster added.

The investment in the new landing air bag is just one of the many improvements and upgrades that Big White Freestyle has made to their terrain park in recent years. The resort is committed to providing a world-class freestyle skiing and snowboarding experience for all levels of athletes.

With the new landing air bag in place, Big White Freestyle is ready to welcome freestyle enthusiasts to their terrain park this winter season. The resort encourages all visitors to follow safety guidelines and use the landing air bag to practice and perfect their skills.
