Bernardeschi scores twice to end goal drought, lift Toronto FC past FC Dallas

Toronto FC ended their goal drought with a 2-0 victory over FC Dallas on Saturday, thanks to two goals from Federico Bernardeschi.

The Italian midfielder, who joined Toronto FC on loan from Juventus in March, had yet to score a goal for his new team. However, he broke that streak in the 27th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box, giving Toronto FC an early lead.

Despite several chances for both teams, the score remained 1-0 until the 71st minute when Bernardeschi struck again, this time with a header off a corner kick. His second goal of the night sealed the victory for Toronto FC and ended their three-game winless streak.

Toronto FC coach Chris Armas praised Bernardeschi’s performance, saying, “He’s a top player, and we knew he would make an impact for us. It’s great to see him get on the scoresheet and help us get the win.”

The victory was a much-needed boost for Toronto FC, who had struggled in their previous matches. They now have a record of two wins, two losses, and one draw in the 2021 MLS season.

FC Dallas, on the other hand, suffered their first loss of the season, dropping their record to two wins and one loss.

Toronto FC will look to continue their winning ways when they face the Columbus Crew next week, while FC Dallas will try to bounce back against the Houston Dynamo.

Overall, it was a well-deserved victory for Toronto FC, who showed determination and resilience on the field. With Bernardeschi finding his scoring touch, the team looks poised for success in the upcoming matches.
